Research on Parenting Toddlers – Recruiting families now
What is the research about?
Karitane invites families to participate in a new program modified specifically for children aged 15 months to 2 years. The Toddler Clinic is a leader in early childhood intervention, providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for hundreds of families each year. This research uses key features of the popular PCIT program, but is tailored to work with the unique developmental characteristics of children under 2 years. During this program we will assist you in managing challenging behaviours including tantrums, defiance, and anger. We will also look at how toddlers play, manage brief separations from their parents and your own experiences with and reactions to love.
What will my child and I have to do?
There are three components:
– An initial interview with the parent
– Free treatment for child behaviour problems
– Follow-up evaluations
Participation is voluntary and has no influence on your care at Karitane, but it is a great way to contribute to our knowledge on child behaviour and assist with the improvement of our treatment.
