Throughout our 100-year history, Karitane has been committed to continuing to build respectful relationships with First Nations communities around the lands where we deliver support and care to families, especially in regional and rural NSW.

On our journey towards reconciliation we are proud of our work in Taree, Biripi country, with our Volunteer Family Connect program improving access to parenting support that is culturally-sensitive, meaningful and connecting across generations.

Last year we were privileged to film and be taken on a cultural and historical journey with the Saunders families in the Saltwater National Park and are finally launching our Connecting to Country project in honour of Uncle Warner Saunders.

Please take a moment to watch this heart-warming video and to gain more insight into Taree and the surrounding areas which are a cultural landscape of great significance for the local First Nations Biripi people.

Special thank you to our amazing Volunteer Family Connect, EPEC and Navigator team in Taree and the amazing families involved in this video production who so eloquently shared their stories. Karitane is so pleased to be offering services to families on Biripi country.
